Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leader Saurav Das, on Monday, slammed the government over the Delhi building collapse incident in which 7 people died including
five students and two labourers. Das said the youth is awakened and when they question the government, they are tagged as "Naraz Fufa" and "Dimagi Naxals". The CJP leader said that the government has left the youth to live like Cockroaches and listed seven demands to the government with respect to the Satya Niketan tragedy. In a press conference, Saurav Das said, "In the true sense, the people sitting in the government have left the youth to live like cockroaches, and that is why the youth is awake today. They are awakened, they are demanding answers, and when they demand answers, they are given the tag of “Naraz Fufa.” They are called “Dimagi Naxals.” So, from whom will they demand answers?" Addressing the Delhi building collapse incident and targeting the PG mafia, Das said, "We also came to know that many PGs are operating in Satya Niketan. At the same time, according to eyewitness accounts, the MCD itself had put up a notice stating that the building was unsafe. Despite this, construction was still going on there. Even then, the children were not evacuated or asked to vacate the premises, and the PGs continued to operate with so many children staying there... Through you, we also want to ask whether this PG mafia and the nexus that is operating can function without political patronage. That nexus should also be investigated." "The connections of the owner and which political leaders he is associated with should also be investigated. Our Cockroach Janata Party team went there yesterday and has been there since then. We are providing whatever help we can with our limited resources," Das said.
Seven Demands By CJP
1. An independent criminal investigation of not just the owner, but the nexus between the owner, politicians, and other persons. The larger PG Mafia needs to be investigated.
2. The government to immediately begin a engineering-grade structural audit of buildings, especially schools, colleges and students accommodation within a time-bound manner, rehabilitate students, and enforce norms by sealing illegal constructions and penalising the owners.
3. WRT the 13 district committees constituted after Hauz Rani incident of June 3 2026: publish all its records, including its enforcement reports, including of Satya Niketan surveys, WITHIN 48 HOURS. Including:
- All 13 district committees constituted after Hauz Rani June 3.
- Names/designations of their members.
- Every daily/weekly report submitted.
- Number of buildings inspected district-wise.
- Number found illegal/unsafe.
- Number issued notices.
- Number sealed/demolished.
- Number where prosecution/action was initiated.
- The date inspections stopped or were scaled down and the officer who authorised it.
- Whether Satya Niketan was surveyed; if yes, what was found; if no, why a major DU student-PG hub was excluded.
These committees were to identify, audit, enforce, seal. They have become defunct within 3 months. Full transparency required.
4. A public searchable database showing whether each student establishment is sanctioned and safe.
5. The government should construct hostels for DU and other students. Entire DU, only around 7000 can be accomodated. But lakhs of students.
6. Compensation for families of dead: 1 crore. Injured 20 Lakhs.
7. The most important one: Ministerial accountability be fixed. Ashish Sood, the urban development & planning and education minister of Delhi. Why were the 13 district committees’ work wound down under him?
