Amroha: Dense fog continued to grip Amroha for the second consecutive day, leading to a major road accident on National Highway-9 on Sunday morning. The
crash took place in the Gajraula police station area, where around 10 vehicles rammed into each other after visibility dropped sharply, leaving more than 15 people injured, according to Times Now Bureau report. Police rushed the injured to a nearby hospital, while traffic on the highway remained disrupted for a long time due to the heavy pile-up.
How the accident happened
According to officials, the fog was so thick that drivers could not judge the distance of vehicles ahead. As visibility fell suddenly, one vehicle hit another, triggering a chain collision, with multiple vehicles crashing one after the other.The accident caused chaos on the highway, with commuters getting stranded and traffic movement coming to a standstill.

Soon after receiving information, police teams and ambulances reached the spot. The injured were quickly pulled out and taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. Authorities said treatment is ongoing and the condition of the injured is being monitored.
Traffic disrupted, vehicles removed using crane
The collision left the highway blocked for a considerable time. Police later used a crane to remove the damaged vehicles from the road and restore traffic flow.Police said they are currently investigating the incident and have urged motorists to remain cautious, especially during early morning hours when fog reduces visibility drastically.
