In a tragic incident in Rajasthan, a bus carrying labourers caught fire after coming in contact with a high-tension electricity line on the Jaipur-Delhi
Highway on Tuesday (October 28). Two labourers died on the spot, while around a dozen others sustained injuries, PTI reported. The incident happened in the Manoharpur area in the city. The bus was carrying labourers to a brick kiln located in Todi village when it caught fire. It was passing through an internal 'kaccha' road near a village. After touching a live electricity wire, the bus caught fire, which was later doused, Superintendent of Police, Jaipur (Rural), Rashi Dogra Dudi said.

As fire broke out, passersby and locals rushed to help, pulling out several passengers before fire tenders reached the spot. The injured were later shifted to Shahpura Sub-District Hospital.
Ashok Gehlot reacts to bus fire tragedy
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took to X, expressing anger while questioning the state's rising number of road mishaps.
"The news of the death of 2 individuals and injuries to several others due to a bus full of workers catching fire after touching a high-tension line in Manoharpur, Jaipur, is heartbreaking," he wrote.

Gehlot added, "The way in which accidents are occurring day after day in Rajasthan, leading to the common people losing their lives, is a matter of grave concern. I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured."
