The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has officially announced its schedule of trading holidays for the coming year 2026. Investors can expect the markets
to close for 15 holidays throughout the year, beginning with Republic Day on January 26, 2026. Interestingly, four of these holidays coincide with weekends, meaning the markets would typically remain closed anyway. March will be the busiest month in terms of trading breaks in the year 2026, with three holidays lined up. Markets will close for Holi on March 3, Shri Ram Navami on March 26, and Shri Mahavir Jayanti on March 31. Other months, such as February, July, and August won’t see any effective holidays, as the national holidays in these months fall on weekends. Exact timings for the special session will be shared closer to the date. This pre-released calendar allows investors to plan their trading activities effectively, keeping all key closures in mind.
