As Bengaluru witnessed heavy rain on Saturday (October 12), the residents have been witnessing waterlogging, overflowing drains and fallen trees all over the streets.
The thunderstorm lasted for several hours, creating chaos and disrupting the lives of people. Roads, including Outer Ring Road (ORR), Whitefield Main Road, and Siddapura, were submerged under ankle to knee-deep water, leaving motorists stranded and vehicles stalled. Commuters were stuck in traffic for hours in some stretches across the city, with gridlocks near Silk Board, Hebbal, and Majestic. As per the met department officials, more rainfall is expected in the coming days due to low-pressure systems over the Bay of Bengal. 'Worst flooding'
The Bengaluru residents took to X, stressing that it was the "worst flooding" in recent memory, while sharing visuals of the flood.
"The woes of Rainbow Drive on Sarjapur Road don't seem to end. Residents say last night's rain has led to the worst flooding in recent memory. 👇View inside this morning," Bengaluru post wrote with a video.

In another post, it was written, "Greater Bengaluru Authority: The real-life GTA where rain is the final boss and cheats are disabled."
"Welcome to Neeladri Nagar, where roads have turned into rivers and footpaths into mini swimming pools, all thanks to Bengaluru’s world-class infrastructure! After a spell of rain, the drainage is overflowing and the roads are completely flooded. But what’s worse? It’s clear the drains haven’t been cleaned in ages, probably waiting for a miracle rather than maintenance," Karnataka Portfolio wrote.

It added that the citizens are forced to drive, walk, and even wade through filthy, stagnant water just to get to work or home.
"Maybe this is part of Brand Bengaluru’s new tourism initiative. Because when the BBMP, GBA officials, and local leaders don’t do their job, every rain becomes a trauma for the citizens," the post read.
