The last three days before JEE Main are the most sensitive and the most decisive. This is the time when many students panic, open new books, try to revise
the entire syllabus and end up increasing stress instead of confidence. Remember this simple truth: in the last three days your academic preparation will not change much, but your mental balance can change completely – and in the end, that is what decides your performance in the exam hall. So these three days must be handled with a clear and conscious plan. Day 1 — Selective Revision Only On the first day, revise only what you have already prepared. Look at your own notes, formula sheets and previously marked questions. Do not attempt to cover the entire syllabus again. Just take a quick glance at high-weightage chapters and topics that you have already practised well. The objective is to strengthen confidence, not to overload the mind. Day 2 — Light Practice, Not Full Mock Tests Avoid writing long mock tests now. Instead, attempt short sectional tests or practice sets of 30–40 questions. The goal is to maintain speed and rhythm, not to exhaust yourself. If a question goes wrong, do not panic. Simply read the solution and move ahead. This is not the time to start new chapters or new concepts. Day 3 — Complete Mental Readiness The third day should be devoted to psychological preparation. Stay away from heavy study material. Organise exam-day logistics – exam centre route, reporting time, admit card, identification documents and required stationery. Sleep on time and sleep well. A fresh mind recalls more than a tired one. On the exam day, your brain will automatically bring back everything you have studied over months, provided it is relaxed. Three strict “don’ts” for the last 72 hours
- No new books
- No new notes
- No comparison with others
Remember, the last three days do not rewrite your preparation, but they completely shape your state of mind. And in JEE Main, the final winner is not always the most knowledgeable student, but the one who stays calm, steady and focused in the examination hall. A composed mind, proper sleep and a simple plan – that is your real last-three-days strategy.
