Bengaluru: With Christmas and year-end celebrations expected to draw large crowds across the city, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued detailed traffic
advisories for the Pulakeshinagar and Mahadevapura traffic divisions to prevent congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement during the festive rush. Anticipating a massive gathering at the Holy Ghost Church, traffic restrictions will be in force from 7 pm on Wednesday until noon on Thursday. During this period, Davis Road will remain temporarily closed between the John Armstrong Road and Cookson Road junctions. Commuters travelling from Davis Road towards HM Road have been advised to take a right turn at John Armstrong Road Junction, proceed straight, take a left onto Viviani Road, followed by another left onto Cookson Road, to rejoin Davis Road. Parking will be strictly prohibited on Davis Road, Banasawadi Main Road, Wheeler’s Road, St John’s Church Road, Haines Road, and Promenade Road during the restricted hours.
Mahadevapura: Traffic Curbs Near Malls Till December 28
In the Mahadevapura zone, heavy footfall is expected near major shopping and entertainment hubs such as Phoenix Mall Bengaluru, VR Mall Whitefield and Nexus Shantiniketan. Traffic curbs in this area will be in place from noon on Wednesday until 11 pm on December 28.ITPL Main Road will be declared a No Parking zone on both sides, stretching from Shell Petrol Bunk to Garudacharpalya Decathlon, and from Medicare Hospital to the Big Bazaar junction.
Drop-Off, Pick-Up Points and Route Diversions
For Phoenix Mall, commuters have been directed to use the Bescom office for drop-offs and Lowry Junction for pick-ups. For Nexus Shantiniketan, designated drop-off and pick-up points have been marked at Rajapalya and Aster Hospital, respectively.
Vehicles approaching from Hoodi or KR Puram will have to turn at Shell Petrol Bunk and use the Railway Parallel Road to access the mall through the rear gate.
Traffic police have urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance, follow signage and on-ground instructions, avoid non-essential travel to high-footfall areas during peak hours, and cooperate with personnel deployed on duty to ensure a smoother festive season for all.
