Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, stressing that India’s ties with Italy have expanded and strengthened significantly in recent years. Responding to questions over the Congress leader's jibe regarding the Italian Prime Minister Meloni, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India's relationship with Italy has grown across various areas, and that diplomatic engagement must be guided by mutual respect and understanding. "Our ties with Italy in recent years have expanded and strengthened in every which way," the MEA said. The ministry further underlined the importance of maintaining diplomatic relations while respecting the sensitivities and perspectives of both countries. "It’s important that, as part of diplomatic practice, we strengthen our ties, keeping in mind and being respectful of each other, and there’s mutual understanding between the two sides," the MEA said.
