Hyderabad Weather: Hyderabad woke up to cloudy skies on Wednesday with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting more wet days ahead for the city
and the rest of Telangana. Residents can expect light to moderate showers over the next few days, while some districts are likely to be lashed by heavy rainfall. According to the IMD, heavy rain is very likely at isolated places in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts over the next two days. The weather office has issued a Yellow alert for these regions, urging people to remain cautious. In Hyderabad, the skies will remain generally cloudy with moderate rain expected until September 20. The rains are forecast to ease slightly into light to moderate showers until September 22, before giving way to thundery developments later in the week. Officials have also warned that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 30–40 kmph may occur at isolated places across Telangana. This could lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas and disruption of daily activities. For the city, temperatures are likely to hover around 30–32°C with humidity levels staying on the higher side, making the days feel muggy despite the rains. With festivals and events lined up this week, residents are advised to keep umbrellas handy and factor in possible traffic delays. Farmers in rain-fed regions are also being asked to stay alert for localised heavy downpours that could affect standing crops.
