No Damage to Humayun's Tomb
Earlier reports indicated that the roof collapse of the Dargah damaged a portion of Humayun's Tomb. However, the claims were debunked by CEO of Aga Khan Trust For Culture In India, Ratish Nanda. In an audio message, Nanda said, "I have been inundated with calls about this bizarre news item that has appeared across some media. There has been no damage, no collapse, nothing untowards at Humayun's tomb at all. The truth is that outside the Humayun's tomb complex, near New Horizon School, there was some new modern construction happening nearer and that building has collapsed. Portions of the building collapsed in a manner that they fell into Humayun's tomb because this is on the boundary wall of the Humayun's tomb complex and maybe that's why the confusion."
"But this building that has collapsed is a brand new, brand new, absolutely new structure which was probably still being constructed.
Thank you for your understanding and I hope all these news items can be eventually rectified," he added.
