alert for the city. The weather department has warned of heavy rain accompanied by strong gusty winds over the next few hours as morning showers lashed parts of the city in the morning. Several parts of Maharashtra have been witnessing heavy rainfall, while some regions are still awaiting the monsoon's full arrival. Mumbai has been receiving intense showers since the early hours, catching many residents off guard. The sudden spell of rain disrupted the morning rush, with commuters navigating waterlogged roads and slow-moving traffic across several parts of the city.

Mumbai Weather Today: IMD Forecasts Rain Through The Day

According to the IMD's latest district-wise forecast, Mumbai is likely to witness light to moderate rainfall through Monday, with rain activity remaining very likely. While the city is expected to see intermittent showers, neighbouring districts could receive more intense rainfall.

Thane is likely to witness moderate rain, while Raigad may receive heavy rainfall at isolated places. Palghar is also expected to experience light to moderate rain during the day.

The IMD's Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Mumbai, has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, heavy to very heavy rainfall, and gusty winds over parts of South Madhya Maharashtra. Heavy rain is also very likely at isolated places across the Konkan-Goa region.

Mumbai Weather Today: Heavy Rain Likely Again Later This Week

The IMD has forecast an increase in rainfall activity later this week. Mumbai is likely to receive heavy rainfall at isolated places on July 23, while heavy rain warnings have also been issued for Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg over the coming days.

Authorities have advised residents to remain alert as intermittent heavy showers could lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas and traffic congestion. Motorists and public transport users are advised to check traffic updates before travelling, as rain-related disruptions are likely during peak hours.
