What is the story about?
In a major development, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a three-language rule for Classes IX and X. As per the latest circular
shared by the board, language education will be in accordance with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) curriculum from the academic session 2026-27. Under the new provisions, students from Class IX onwards will be required to study up to three languages, with two of them being native Indian languages. The new rule will be implemented from July 1, 2026. Foreign language can only be opted as a third language as optional fourth. this is a developing story*
