Shri Ram Janmbhoomi temple trust, on Saturday, said that they are "shocked, hurt, and saddened" over the alleged theft of the donation fund in the temple but
assured the devotees that they are committed to ensuring a fair investigation. The trust also assured devotees that their donations, such as silver bricks and jewelry handed personally to them for offering to Lord Ram, are safe and fully accounted for. The statement from the trust comes after eight suspects so far have been arrested in the case following the lodging of an FIR. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also assured that 'no one' would be spared in the matter. The Ram Janmbhoomi trust also acknowledged that they have received resignations of trustees -- Champat Rai and Anil Mishra -- adding that they will further deliberate on this matter in the upcoming meeting.
Trust Confirms Champat Rai, Anil Mishra's Resignations
In its statement, the trust said, "We are shocked, hurt, and deeply saddened by the incidents reported over the past few days regarding the Shri Ram Mandir (Ayodhya). We are committed to ensuring a fair investigation and reassuring the devotees."
"Resignations have been received from Champat Rai, General Secretary, and Anil Mishra, Trustee, of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra (Trust). The Trust will deliberate on this matter in its upcoming meeting. The Trust assures those devotees who personally handed over items—such as silver bricks and jewelry—to Trust officials for offering to Lord Ram that these items are safe and fully accounted for. We assure everyone that we will take measures to prevent any such unfortunate situation from arising in the future," the trust added.
Refrain from Spreading Rumours, Urges Ram Mandir Trust
With regard to the incident involving funds collected from the temple's donation boxes, the Trust, based on the interim report submitted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government at the Trust's request, has registered an FIR, and legal proceedings are currently underway.
"We assure everyone that every effort will be made to ensure that no such unfortunate situation arises in the future. We will insist that those responsible receive strict punishment in accordance with the law. We will not allow anti-social, irreligious, and self-serving elements to succeed in their attempts to malign Sanatan Dharma," the Ram Mandir trust said.
The Trust added that they request everyone to refrain from believing or spreading misleading and baseless rumours and to ensure that others are not misled by such misinformation.
"We are confident that these clouds will pass, the darkness will give way, the light of truth will prevail, and the powerful stream of devotion to Lord Shri Ram will continue to flow uninterrupted," they added.
