Bengaluru's potholes have once again come under the spotlight after a school bus, carrying 20 students, was toppled after hitting a pothole near Panathur
Main Road on Friday morning (September 12). The children narrowly escaped, as they were rescued through the bus's back door, according to the authorities. The incident was captured on a car's dashcam, and the video has gone viral on the internet. As shown in the video, the incident happened as the bus was seen trying to overtake another school bus from the left; however, it fell into a pothole. The bus toppled over on one side.

The locals rushed and tried to save the children by opening the emergency exit of the bus, and safely rescued the students. No injuries were reported.
The city has continued to attract backlash for its poor road infrastructure and potholes, this time putting the lives of 20 students at risk.
10,000 potholes in Bengaluru
Recently, Karnataka’s Public Works Minister DK Shivkumar acknowledged that the city has around 10,000 potholes.
Potholes in Bengaluru have been claiming the lives of people for a very long time, highlighting the gravity of the pothole issue in the city.
In a similar incident earlier this week, a woman rider died after her two-wheeler hit a pothole and was run over by a lorry on the National Highway-66 near Mangaluru. Initially, she was injured, but later died at the scene.
According to a local, it was the fifth death caused by the city's potholes.
