US President Donald Trump’s health has been under scrutiny in recent months, despite his repeated assertions that he is in perfect health and has excelled
in multiple cognitive tests. According to a report by New York Magazine, the soon-to-be octogenarian is increasingly focused on how he will be remembered. Even the ballroom currently being constructed at the White House is “about leaving a legacy,” a senior White House official said. The White House has portrayed him as a “superhuman president,” claiming he possesses stamina and energy far beyond that of an average person. Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said he works harder, remembers more and has greater endurance and energy than a normal mortal. Also Read: Trump Vs NRA? 'You Can't Have Guns' Comment After Alex Pretti Shooting Sparks Row A New York Magazine report noted that Donald Trump has stopped dyeing his hair blond, allowing it to turn white naturally. But that change isn’t what’s raising concern. According to a senior staffer quoted by the publication, Trump’s hearing is no longer as sharp as it once was. The Republican leader struggled to recall the word “Alzheimer’s” when asked about his father’s health. “At a certain age, around 86 or 87, he started developing, what do they call it?” Trump said, gesturing toward his forehead and glancing at White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Trump’s son Eric described him as superstitious and reluctant to dwell on death, saying he “likes occupying his mind with what’s in the present, rather than what’s in the future.” He added, “Is it on everyone’s mind to some extent? Of course. But he believes and I agree that he has many years ahead.” Meanwhile, social media armchair doctors have speculated that Trump has only months to live, citing recent disclosures and observations about his health. In late 2025, Trump initially told reporters he had undergone a “perfect” MRI, but later admitted he had “no idea” which part of his body was scanned. His physician later clarified that the test was actually a CT scan of his chest and abdomen, not an MRI. The White House has attributed the frequent bruising on Trump’s hands to “frequent handshaking” and his daily use of high-dose aspirin. He also experiences a condition in which leg veins have difficulty returning blood to the heart, causing visibly swollen ankles. Trump has stated that he takes 325 mg of aspirin daily, well above the 81 mg typically recommended for heart health, despite his doctors advising him to reduce the dose. Trump has denied dozing off during Cabinet meetings, insisting he is merely “resting his eyes” or that cameras simply capture him “blinking.” He will turn 80 on June 14.
