An American man who went missing during a solo hiking trip in Spain’s Pyrenees Mountains has been found dead. Authorities recovered the body of 27-year-old
Cole Henderson on Friday, weeks after he vanished. Search teams found Henderson’s remains about 650 feet down a steep and hard-to-reach section on the north face of Monte Perdido. The rescue crews used a crane to lift his body from the rugged terrain.

Henderson was last heard from on July 9, when he texted a friend to say he had reached the town of Torla before heading into the mountains, as per NBC news report. He told the friend he would switch his phone to airplane mode.
When he didn’t return to his home in Amsterdam, he was reported missing five days later.
Cole Henderson’s Education And Career
According to his LinkedIn profile, Henderson was living in Amsterdam and working as an engineer for Dexter Energy, a company that uses artificial intelligence to help renewable energy providers forecast production and manage resources.
Before moving to the Netherlands, he worked as an engineer in San Francisco and Massachusetts for different companies. Henderson was a 2020 graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where he earned a degree in computer science with honors. He was also a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Spanish authorities have not yet released an official cause of death, but the location where Henderson was found is known for its dangerous cliffs and unpredictable weather.
