What is the story about?
For the third year running, Chipotle is bringing back its Burrito Vault game to mark National Burrito Day on Thursday, April 2. The game first launched
two years ago and pulled in more than 3.5 million plays last year alone, a number that clearly gave the chain reason to keep it going. The concept is straightforward - players try to guess the correct burrito combination for a given hour for a shot at winning prizes. Get it right and you could walk away with anything from a buy-one-get-one entrée to free burritos for an entire year.
What's New This Year
The biggest addition to this year's game is a new mode called Double Protein Power Hour, which runs once per day. During that window, the number of available prizes doubles compared to regular gameplay hours and every prize during that period comes with double protein included. How to Play
The game is open to Chipotle Rewards members and runs daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET from March 30 through April 1, building up to National Burrito Day on April 2. To access it, head to UnlockBurritoDay.com.Each player gets four guesses per hour, and the vault code resets at the top of every hour along with a fresh batch of prizes. The prizes are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis within each hour.
Here is how the prizes break down during regular gameplay each hour - the first player to crack the code wins free burritos for a year. After that, 3,600 BOGO entrées are up for grabs, followed by 2,000 double protein rewards.
During Double Protein Power Hour, the stakes are higher, the first two players to unlock the vault each win free double protein burritos for a year, followed by 7,200 double protein BOGOs and 4,000 double protein rewards.
One thing to keep in mind, players can win a maximum of one BOGO entrée or one double protein reward across the entire campaign, so you cannot stack wins.
