Mumbai: Passengers travelling between Hazur Sahib Nanded and Mumbai will soon have a faster and more comfortable option. The new Vande Bharat Express train
on this route is set to make its inaugural run on 26 August, marking another boost for Central Railway’s semi high-speed network. The train is an extension of the existing CSMT–Jalna–CSMT Vande Bharat service (train numbers 20706/20705). Operated and maintained by Central Railway, it will cover a distance of 610 km in 9 hours 25 minutes. This is nearly two hours shorter than the current fastest option, the Devgiri Express, which takes over 11 hours. For its inaugural journey, the special train (02705) will depart Hazur Sahib Nanded at 11:20 am on Tuesday and reach CSMT at 9:55 pm the same day.
Regular Timings and Frequency
From 27 August, train number 20705 will depart Hazur Sahib Nanded at 5:00 am, six days a week (except Wednesday), and arrive at CSMT by 2:25 pm. On its return, train number 20706 will leave CSMT at 1:10 pm (except Thursday) and reach Hazur Sahib Nanded at 10:50 pm.Route and Stoppages
The train will halt at eight stations: Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad, Manmad, Nashik Road, Kalyan, Thane and Dadar.Coach Composition
