The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against Jai Anmol Anil Ambani, the son of businessman Anil Ambani, in connection with a significant
banking fraud linked to Reliance Housing Finance Limited (RHFL). This marks the first time a criminal case has been formally lodged against Anil Ambani’s son. According to a PTI report, officials confirm that the case also names RHFL, its former CEO and whole-time director Ravindra Sudhalkar, along with several unidentified individuals, including public officials. The complaint alleges cheating, criminal conspiracy, and misconduct, resulting in a wrongful financial loss of Rs 228.06 crore to the Union Bank of India. A written complaint submitted to the CBI claims that Jai Anmol Ambani, Ravindra Sudhalkar, and others engaged in irregularities in lending and repayment, which ultimately caused financial loss. The case has been registered under charges relating to fraud and abuse of position, the report added. Investigation Underway The CBI is expected to review internal records of RHFL, loan documents, and accounts as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials may also conduct further questioning of company representatives and bank personnel as the probe progresses. So far, the Anil Ambani group has not released a detailed public statement regarding the case.
