Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder and convenor Abhijeet Dipke has written to education ministers of all states, urging governments to treat public education as an "urgent
priority" and seeking detailed, state-wise data on the condition of government schools. In his letter shared on social media platform X, Dipke raised concerns over the lack of basic facilities in government schools, including safe drinking water, functional washrooms, proper classrooms, and even benches for students. He said the condition of schools highlighted in visuals circulating on social media should be a matter of "serious concern". The CJP founder has asked education ministries to publicly disclose how many government schools have been renovated in the last five years and how many currently require repairs or complete renovation. He also sought details of sanctioned, filled, and vacant teaching positions in government schools. Among other issues, Dipke sought details on the non-teaching duties assigned to government school teachers and asked how many schools have adequate access to computers and digital learning facilities, clean and functional toilets, as well as sports facilities and equipment. "This is not about politics or any one government. This is about the future of our children," Dipke said in the letter, stressing that every child deserves a safe classroom, clean drinking water, a functional washroom, a bench to sit on and a teacher.
He urged education ministries to make the information public and take urgent steps to ensure that no child is denied a dignified education because of inadequate infrastructure.
CJP seeks answers from education ministers
Sharing Dipke's letter, Cockroach Janta Party's account on X wrote, "As citizens of a democracy, we hold the right to know how our tax money is being used to improve education. We expect the Education Ministers of every state to answer these questions and make the information public. India’s future depends on the education we provide to our children. It’s time for governments to treat public education as the priority it deserves."
While the CJP continues its 'School Thik Karo' initiative across the country, CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka demanded the arrest of those involved in the alleged violence during the party workers' visit to a government school in Jaipur's Rampura-Kanwarpura village.
Stating that "our good faith must not be mistaken for weakness," the CJP announced that its National Working Committee will meet on August 24 to decide on its next steps. While the ongoing protests previously resulted in the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, the party maintains it will not rest until every commitment made to the youth is fully realised.
