Just a day after the Air India flight’s altitude loss incident that left 137 of its passengers shaken while on their way to Delhi from Phuket, a woman
came forward and alleged that the flight’s cabin crew later asked the passenger not to share any videos of the mishap, as it would “impact the airline’s reputation”. The woman- Shilpi Jain- was allegedly on Airbus A320neo, operating flight AI2379, that experienced a rapid loss of altitude by around 300 feet mid-air on Tuesday, August 04. Recalling the incident, the woman first claimed that the crew was very helpful; however, after everything got settled, they looked more concerned with the airline’s “reputation” than with the aircraft that “could have crashed”. “Many passengers and cabin crew got injured in the Phuket to Delhi flight. I was also on that flight. I was there when the incident happened. When the flight went down by 300 feet, all the passengers jumped towards the plane roof, resulting in them getting injured. When this happened, the crew member behaved very nicely, which I appreciate; but then they said something– they asked us not to share videos of this incident anywhere, because this will impact our reputation,” the woman said. What left Jain further furious was the crew’s decision to not make an emergency landing in Lucknow, which she said was “possible”. “I did not find that correct, because if there is a fault in your aircraft, you should point that out. They also did not make an emergency landing, even though it was an option, as they could have done it in Lucknow. The flight was about to crash, and the crew were more concerned with their reputation,” the woman continued. The video immediately went viral, drawing a variety of online reactions. Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post. The said Air India flight had a total of 145 occupants: 137 passengers and 8 crew members. Luckily enough, the incident caused no casualty, while the plane landed in Delhi at 11:07 AM. Reportedly, the incident left at least 17 people onboard injured, including one cabin crew member who suffered severe injuries. A total of 13 passengers and 4 crew members were admitted to hospital for treatment on Tuesday itself, reported PTI.
