Bengaluru: Several parts of the city will face a scheduled power outage on Tuesday, December 23, as Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM)
carries out maintenance-related shutdowns at a major power station, officials said. According to BESCOM, the outage is linked to work at the 220/66 kV ‘A’ Station, where the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) will undertake line clearance to attend to R&D observations, tan delta testing of hotspots, and quarterly maintenance. The maintenance work is scheduled to be carried out between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm on December 23.

BESCOM said power supply will be interrupted in parts of central and west Bengaluru, including:
TCS, Holiday Inn area, Sheshadri Road, Kurubarahalli Sangha Circle, 1st Main Road Gandhi Nagar, 1st and parts of 2nd Cross, Crescent Road, Karnataka Judicial Academy, Minister’s Quarters (Energy & Home), West End Hotel area, Karnataka Power Corporation, Fairfield Layout, LLR, BWSSB, Shivananda Park, Sheshadripuram, Vinayaka Circle, Kumara Park East, Kaveri Bhavan, KHB, BWSSB, Kandaya Bhavana, cinema theatres in Gandhi Nagar, Tank Bund Road, S.C. Road, parts of K.G. Road, parts of Hospital Road, Lakshmanpuri area, 6th and 10th Cross Cubbonpete, Load Dispatch Centre, KPTCL offices at Ananda Rao Circle, Race Course Road, Chief Secretary’s Quarters, Avinash Petrol Bunk area, Vasanthanagar, PWD Office, Police Quarters, Brigade Plaza and Khanija Bhavan.

BESCOM has advised residents and commercial establishments in the affected areas to plan their day in advance, especially those dependent on uninterrupted power supply. Officials said the shutdown is essential to ensure system reliability and prevent unexpected breakdowns in the future.
Power supply is expected to be restored immediately after the completion of maintenance work, subject to technical conditions. BESCOM has requested consumers to cooperate during the temporary disruption.
