Bengaluru Power Cut: Residents in parts of Kolar district will face a scheduled power outage on January 25, 2026, as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company
Limited (BESCOM) carries out essential maintenance and repair work. According to the official notice, the interruption in power supply is part of planned technical works aimed at improving the reliability of electricity distribution in the region.
Why the Power Cut Is Being Carried Out
BESCOM said the outage is required to facilitate maintenance work at 220 kV, 66 kV and 11 kV substations, including repairs and system upgrades.The works are being undertaken by KPTCL and BESCOM teams to ensure smoother power supply and prevent future breakdowns.
Bengaluru Power Cut: Areas Likely to Be Affected
As per the notice, power supply will be disrupted in Kolar city and several surrounding areas and villages that receive electricity from the affected substations.The outage is expected to impact areas including Kolar town and nearby localities such as Vakkaleri, Bangarpet side areas, Talagunda, Tekkemadu and surrounding villages, along with other regions connected to the same power network.
BESCOM has advised residents in the affected areas to be prepared for the temporary disruption.
