Washington DC: In a major gaffe, US President Donald Trump mistook Brazil for India while posting about the presidential elections in the Latin American
country. In the post, Trump claimed that 125 people were voting in the “first round” of India’s presidential polls. IN his post, he US President also compared the speed of election results in India with vote counting in the US, claiming that India’s results were announced on the same day while results in places such as Detroit and Philadelphia can take week "125 Million People voted today in the first round of India’s Presidential Election. The results came out shortly after the vote closed, on the SAME DAY! In Detroit, Philadelphia, California, and numerous other U.S. Cities and States, the results, with much smaller numbers, will often take weeks to Rig, I mean, calculate. Voting in America is CORRUPT!!! President DJT," Trump wrote. The Trump's statement came after Brazil's first round of presidential polls on Sunday (October 4). Senator Flavio Bolsonaro and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva have advanced to the second round of the country's elections. Neither of them cleared the 50 per cent needed to win outright, so voters will choose between them again on October 25. During the count, Flavio led Lula with 47.18 per cent to 44.98 per cent when nearly 99 per cent of votes had been reported, Reuters reported. His lead had been narrowing as more ballots came in. Pollster Datafolha had projected that the race would go to a second vote. The second round is set for October 25. Surveys suggest the two are about even in that matchup. The campaign was shaped by corruption scandals, economic worries, and accusations of U.S. meddling. Despite concerns about Brazil's public finances and slow growth, there was little serious policy debate, since both leading candidates skipped the main TV debates.
