A powerful 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Alaska late Saturday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). The quake was centered 96 km northeast of
Yakutat at 02:11:48 (UTC+05:30), with tremors reportedly felt as far as Juneau and bordering regions of Canada. USGS has further reported strong afterquakes in the same region on 5.6 and 5.3 magnitudes. No casualties or property damage have been reported so far. The US Tsunami Warning Center has announced that there is no tsunami threat after the massive primary earthquake. This is breaking news.
