The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the personality test/ interview that was scheduled to be held today (on January 22, 2026). As
per the notification released today, the afternoon session of the January 22 interviews has been postponed to February 27 (Friday) forenoon session. This change in interview schedule took place due to the early closure of office today (January 22) due to the ongoing full dress rehearsal for Republic Day 2026. "The Personality Test of the candidates of CSME-2025 which was scheduled to be held on 22.01.2026 (Afternoon Session) has now been rescheduled on Friday, 27.02.2026 (Forenoon Session) due to early closure of office on 22.01.2026 on account of Full dress rehearsal for Republic Day Parade, 2026,” the official notification stated. UPSC released the Civil Services Examination (CSE 2025) interview schedule for shortlisted candidates in the first week of December, 2025. The forenoon session will commence at 9 AM, while the afternoon session will start at 1 PM. Additionally, candidates should note that the travelling cost of candidates will be reimbursed by the commission. However, the fare is limited to second- and sleeper-class trains only. “The candidates will have to submit hard copies/Print out of both ways tickets, showing the details of far alongwith the prescribed T.A. contribution claim form duly filled in duplicate. The TA bill forms are available at https:/www.upsc.gov.in/forms-downloads,” the notice added.
UPSC Civil Services 2026 Notification Soon
Meanwhile, UPSC is gearing up to release the detailed notification for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026. Once released, the online registration process for the UPSC CSE will also begin. The detailed notification will be made available, and the online application process will be available at the official UPSC website, i.e. upsc.gov.in. As per the calendar released earlier, the UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 is scheduled for May 24, 2026. Earlier, the detailed notification was supposed to release on January 14, but the same has been postponed due to 'administrative reasons' as stated by UPSC. Once released, the notification will clarify the number of attempts permitted for each category, including General, OBC, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates.
