What is the story about?
In what is a drubbing for the Republicans in the US, following a stunning Democrat sweep in the midterm elections, the memes have started flying. And one
such meme is doing the rounds, from a rather high-profile handle. The Embassy of Iran in India have sent a sharp jibe President Donald Trump's way. And it is going to sting.
The Embassy posted this meme. An AI-generated video of a disheveled Donald Trump, seemingly unconscious after the midterm election setback, being carried by a bunch of security personnel and throwing him into a garbage bin labelled "hazardous waste." Iran seems to be having the last laugh after fighting a months-long war with the United States and Israel- and getting a front row seat to seeing both Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu fail to win their respective elections. As a direct aftermath of the war in the Middle East.
Democrats have scored a sweeping victory in the US Senate elections, overturning Republican control in several traditionally conservative states and delivering a major setback to President Donald Trump and his party. In a dramatic night for the Democratic Party, candidates secured unexpected victories in Iowa, Ohio, Kansas, South Carolina and Texas, turning what had appeared to be a difficult battle for Senate control into a decisive electoral breakthrough.
The setbacks for Republicans began soon after polling stations closed, with incumbent Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff comfortably retaining his seat in Georgia. Former North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper then defeated Republican Michael Whatley, flipping a seat for the Democrats. Although both victories had been widely anticipated, the speed with which the races were called set the tone for what followed.
One of the biggest upsets came in South Carolina, where Democrat Annie Andrews defeated Republican Darline Graham. The seat had been held by the late Senator Lindsey Graham for more than two decades, making the result a significant breakthrough for Democrats in a deeply Republican state.
