Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah and former Chief Justice Sushila Karki are no longer in the running to take over the interim charge of Nepal. Protestors have
now fielded the name of Engineer Kulman Ghising, the widely respected head of the Nepal Electricity Authority, to lead the nation as the Prime Minister. In a statement released on Thursday, 'Gen Z' protestors said that the most qualified and preferred person to lead the interim cabinet was Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah. However, Balen Shah had not shown interest in taking charge, they said. Hence, he was out of question. Another popular name, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, was doing the rounds during the discussions. However, her name was rejected since she was over the age of 70 and would not be able to "represent the Gen-Z". Hence, they had zeroed in on the name of Engineer Kulman Ghising to lead the interim government. In their statement, the protestors called him "a patriotic person and everyone's favourite" to lead the interim government. Nepal protesters' full statement on resolving the current crisis:
"1. Our movement to end corruption and injustice and establish good governance is close to unprecedented success. This will be concluded with the formation of an interim cabinet supported by Gen-Z.
2. The most qualified and preferred person to lead the interim cabinet was the respected Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah. However, it is clear that he has shown no interest in this process.

3. In the virtual discussion held yesterday, many people supported the name of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki. There was also a positive discussion about the name of Kulman Ghising, former CEO of Nepal Electricity Authority. Although there was a positive discussion yesterday about the name of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, for us who respect the constitution, law, and procedure, it did not seem legal to put her forward. As per the constitution, former Chief Justices and judges are not eligible for appointment to this post, and since she has exceeded the age of 70, she cannot even represent Gen-Z. Her name has been rejected.
4. Since Balendra Shah has not shown interest, Harka Sampang has little chance of leading everyone, and Sushila Karki is incompetent and over 70 years of age, it has been decided to send Engineer Kulman Ghising, a patriotic person and everyone's favourite, to lead the interim government."
