The protest site of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Delhi's Jantar Mantar was cleared on Monday during the high-pitched Cockroach Party stir but only
to be filled up again later at Midnight, as Abhijeet Dipke and Gitanjali Angmo continued their sit-in, signaling that the agitation was far from over. Meanwhile, climate activist Sonam Wangchuk released a note saying that he will be continuing his fast from the hospital. Meanwhile, more than 118 police personnel, including several senior officers, were injured and around 70 protesters were detained on Monday, as CJP's "Sansad Chalo" protest march turned violent, police said.
CJP's Protest Site Cleared
The protest site of the Cockroach Janta Party, where Sonam Wangchuk observed his hunger strike, stood dismantled, with trampolines, carpets, mattresses and other materials removed as protesters marched towards the Parliament. However, the site once again started swelling up later towards midnight after Dipke and Wangchuk's wife gave a call to supporters to gather at Jantar Mantar saying, "Now or Never."
The CJP first organised a one-day protest at Jantar Mantar on June 6 and soon began a full-fledged sit-in with several hunger strikers.

Abhijeet Dipke, Geetanjali Angmo Continue Stir
Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Gitanjali Angmo continued their stir on Monday evening, according to CJP. "They are right now in front of Kerala House. This peaceful protest is not ending!" the CJP posted on X.
The CJP said that, "Despite the police brutality, the brave protestors of CJP are back at Jantar Mantar. Delhi, come out and join us at Jantar Mantar - this is now or never!"

The BJP had sent goons to infiltrate the protest and tried to create mischief today. CJP and its protesters have a track record of peaceful protests.

Earlier on Monday, the CJP met Union Minister JP Nadda and shared a list of demands. Sharing the images on X, party spokesperson Saurav Das said that he and Ashutosh Ranka met Nadda at his residence and conveyed key demands, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. While the minister assured that the issues would be discussed at an appropriate level, no concrete commitments were made. CJP further claimed that Nadda assured there would be no further crackdown on protesters at Jantar Mantar, even as demonstrations continue.
Union Minister JP Nadda said that he requested all the protesters to "end their sit-in and assist the administration in restoring normalcy."
The three demands of the Cockroach Janta Party are:
* Immediate release of Sonam Wangchuk
* Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation
* 1 Crore compensation for all NEET aspirants who committed suicide
Wangchuk To Continue Fast
Sonam Wangchuk announced on Monday that he would continue his indefinite hunger strike, saying the police action against protesters during the CJP's "Sansad Chalo" march has prompted him to extend the fast until youth leaders are allowed to meet parliamentarians or he is permitted to do so from the hospital.
Wangchuk said he is "touched and moved" by the manner in which the protesters have maintained peace despite "provocation".
Chaos On The Streets of Delhi
The Delhi Police prevented the CJP's proposed march to Parliament, barricading roads around Jantar Mantar and detaining several protesters as thousands gathered despite heavy rain.The situation escalated into clashes on the streets, with both protesters and police personnel sustaining injuries as tensions flared. Several barricades were broken during the scuffle, tear gas shells were fired.
Police also asked protesters to cooperate with security personnel and follow lawful directions to maintain public order.
