Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced that 150 school buildings across the state will be reconstructed at a cost of Rs 400 crore. The
announcement came after the state government surveyed schools to assess infrastructure requirements. As per a PTI inputs, Saini said the government has identified 150 schools where buildings need to be reconstructed and has released Rs 400 crore for the work. He said improved school infrastructure, along with quality education, would help students contribute to the vision of a developed India. The Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing a programme in the Ladwa Assembly constituency on Sunday. Haryana Government's School Infrastructure Push The announcement comes weeks after Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda said the state government had earmarked Rs 200 crore for constructing buildings for 118 government primary, middle and senior secondary schools. According to the Haryana government's September 1 release, a survey had found that these schools did not have proper buildings. The government said the new buildings would be developed with basic facilities such as drinking water, toilets and electricity, along with laboratories, computers and digital infrastructure according to the requirements of individual schools. Saini also announced Rs 21 lakh for development works in Bir Kheri village and Rs 2 lakh for books for the village library. He announced another Rs 50 lakh for the construction of a community centre in Anthedi, along with beautification works at the village cremation ground. During the programme, various government departments also set up stalls under the ongoing month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in villages including Kalirano and Sultanpur to hear public grievances and receive applications for government schemes. The Chief Minister also highlighted other state government initiatives, including free 2-KW solar panels for eligible families and healthcare benefits under the Ayushman scheme. The school reconstruction announcement is expected to form part of the state's broader efforts to improve infrastructure in government schools. (With PTI Inputs)
