Upping the ante against the Centre and poll body over Special Intensive Revision and revision of the electoral rolls at an event, the former Delhi Chief Minister said that whatever Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar did was for his "boss" and not for himself. "First, you demanded the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. Now you are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. I say, go ahead and directly demand the boss's resignation. Everything is happening at his behest." Now the movement should be for Modi's resignation. Whatever the CEC did, he did it for "his boss", not for himself, he added. Kejriwal's remarks have come after The Indian Express in its report said that the two other Election Commissioners had raised objections related to SIR process, inclusion of Form 6 and pointed out at least 14 times in the last 10 months, flagging issues over the electoral rolls revision. Ever since this report, Kejriwal and other opposition leaders have been hitting out the government, poll body demanding CEC's resignation and impeachment, cancellation of all elections conducted under Gyanesh Kumar and roll back of voter list to pre-SIR status.
Gen Z Does Not Trust Him, says Kejriwal
In another attack at the BJP's Delhi government, the former Chief Minister reiterated his demand for the dismissal and arrest of PWD Minister Parvesh Verma for allegedly slapping a young man, adding the Gen Z does not trust him because of such acts.
"The minister slapped a young boy. This country does not belong to your father. You cannot slap anyone like this. This country belongs to 140 crore Indians," Kejriwal said, addressing reporters after he reached the Tilak Nagar area where the young man was recording Verma during a road inspection.
"Gen Z does not trust you at all because of such acts by you. Parvesh Verma says he is Modi ji's favourite. I want to tell both of them, people of the country do not accept this kind of behaviour," the former Delhi chief minister said.
