What is the story about?
Delhi Weather Today June 7: After days of rain warnings, Delhi is expected to see a change in weather as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has
predicted that temperatures are likely to increase starting today (June 7), Sunday. However, the met department has also not ruled out the possibility of thunderstorms in the national capital. The IMD has issued a warning for thunderstorms and rain in Delhi and its neighboring regions, including Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad. Following a brief period of respite from the heat, residents may soon experience a resurgence of warm weather, with maximum temperatures expected to reach around 41 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

How Was The Weather Yesterday?
On Saturday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was 26.4 degrees Celsius, slightly below the seasonal average. Relative humidity stood at 60% at 8:30 AM, contributing to a feeling of mugginess in the air.
Earlier this week, light rain provided temporary relief from the scorching heat that had gripped the city, with some areas experiencing a significant drop in temperatures. However, the IMD cautioned that the respite may be short-lived, as temperatures are likely to rise again starting Sunday, with predictions of a heatwave returning to northwest India.
Delhi Air Quality
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 162, categorizing it as "moderate." This level of air quality indicates that while the air is not severely polluted, it may still pose some health risks for sensitive individuals.
The recent weather activity has resulted from a western disturbance affecting the region, which has been associated with thunderstorms and light rain in parts of Himachal Pradesh, continuing through June 11. The IMD's observations indicated that strong winds were prevalent across Delhi, leading to reduced visibility in some areas.
Advisory for Residents
Residents are advised to remain vigilant and prepare for fluctuating weather conditions as the IMD continues to monitor the situation closely. With the potential for increased temperatures and humidity levels in the coming days, they are advised to stay informed about weather updates and track official handles of met department.
