The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court has remanded Manisha Sanjay Havaldar to six days of police custody in connection with the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak
case. Manisha Havaldar was produced before the court after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sought her custodial interrogation in part of its ongoing probe into the alleged leak of the medical entrance exam. Manisha Havaldar was produced before the court today, where the CBI sought her six-day police custody. Havaldar is a Pune based lecturer who employed at Seth Hiralal Saraf Prashala in Pune, Maharashtra. She was involved in the NEET UG 2026 examination process and appointed by NTA as an expert. Since she was appointed as an expert, she had had complete access to the Physics question papers. CBI has alleged that that during April 2026, Havaldar shared several Physics questions with co-accused Manisha Mandhare, who was arrested earlier on May 16. It has been alleged that the questions she shared have tallied with the physics questions of NEET UG 2026 examination paper sets. Now, the agency sought six days of police custody to further investigate the alleged conspiracy and examine the involvement of other individuals linked to the case. The matter is part of the wider investigation into alleged irregularities and paper leak claims surrounding NEET UG 2026. The case for alleged paper leak of NEET UG 2026 was registered by the CBI on May 12, 2026, following a written complaint from the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education (MoE) regarding the alleged leak of the NEET UG 2026 question paper. In a press briefing held on May 15, the Education Minister revealed that by May 7, NTA received complaint on the grievance system that some questions from the guess paper are similar to the actual exam paper. The complaint was taken up by the Education Ministry and other investigation agencies. Following this, an investigation was carried out and the May 3 exam was cancelled on May 12. The re-exam will be held on June 21, 2026.
