What is the story about?
Bengaluru: The weather in Bengaluru is getting much hotter. Experts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) say the city might see temperatures
rise as high as 38°C in the next few days. This follows a trend of record-breaking heat across Karnataka this April.
Bengaluru's Hottest Days
On Tuesday, Bengaluru recorded 36.6°C, making it the hottest day of 2026 so far. While the temperature dropped slightly on Wednesday to 35.8°C, weather scientists warn that the mercury will likely climb back up and could reach 38°C soon. For the next 48 hours, residents should expect temperatures to stay between 36°C and 37°C with very dry weather.
Will it Rain?
While there is a small chance of thundershowers, meteorologists say these will likely happen only in a few isolated spots. Unfortunately, this minor rain is not expected to bring much relief from the intense summer heat.
Extreme Heat in North Karnataka
The heat is even more severe in other parts of the state. In Kalaburagi, temperatures have reached a scorching 45°C. Because of this, the Met department has issued "Orange" and "Yellow" alerts for the Kalyana Karnataka region.
- Kalaburagi City: 42.1°C
- Awrad B: 45°C
- Chincholi & Afzalpur: 44.03°C
