As security measures continue across central Delhi amid the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protests, the Delhi Traffic Police on Friday (July
24) advised app-based cab services, food delivery platforms, quick-commerce companies and logistics operators to regulate their services in areas under prohibitory orders. The advisory comes a day after authorities shut several Delhi Metro stations and imposed restrictions in parts of the national capital to maintain law and order.
Police Ask Platforms to Geo-Fence Restricted Areas
In a post on X, the Delhi Traffic Police urged app-based service providers to consider geo-fencing or temporarily suspending ride and delivery services in areas where prohibitory orders under Section 163 are in force.
The police said the move is aimed at protecting drivers, delivery partners and the general public while ensuring that law and order is maintained during the ongoing protests.

In view of the prohibitory orders under Section 163 BNSS, 2023, citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel to the notified area and use alternate routes wherever possible.

Authorities also appealed to citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to restricted areas and cooperate with police personnel deployed on the ground. The advisory applies to cab aggregators, food delivery services, quick-commerce platforms and logistics operators that have vehicles moving across the affected parts of the city.
Security Tightened Across Central Delhi
The latest advisory comes as security remains tight across central Delhi due to the CJP-led protests over the alleged NEET paper leak.
On Thursday, authorities suspended mobile internet services in parts of central Delhi for several hours and closed multiple Delhi Metro stations as thousands of protesters gathered near Jantar Mantar. Roads in and around the protest site were also barricaded, with traffic movement restricted on several stretches.
Police have continued to maintain a heavy deployment in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
Citizens Asked to Cooperate
The Delhi Traffic Police requested commuters to follow traffic advisories and avoid travelling to restricted zones unless necessary.
Officials said regulating app-based transport and delivery services would help reduce congestion, improve emergency access and ensure the safety of drivers, delivery personnel and commuters.
The advisory is part of a series of traffic and security measures being implemented as authorities monitor the situation in central Delhi amid the ongoing protests.
