Kejriwal to march to PM's home over E20

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced that he will march to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence on August 4 to submit a petition

by citizens demanding changes to the Centre's E20 fuel policy. Addressing a town hall, Kejriwal said he would reach the Prime Minister's residence at 12 pm accompanied by around 100 people. He claimed that nearly seven lakh people watched the town hall online. During the interaction, Kejriwal said people had raised three key demands before the government. • Consumers at petrol pumps should have the option to choose between regular petrol and E20 fuel.
• Petrol prices should be reduced from the current Rs 84 per litre.
• The price of ethanol should be reduced.

Targeting the Centre over the ethanol blending programme, Kejriwal alleged that the policy was being implemented under pressure from the United States. He claimed that the US is the world's largest producer of ethanol and alleged that India would import USD 2.5 billion worth of ethanol from America this year.
