Imagine you work for 14 hours straight, only for your boss to get upset over you not responding to their ‘3 AM’ text! Taking to social media, a woman narrated
a rather horrible ordeal she went through at her office. As per a Reddit post on the same, the woman ended up reaching her “breaking point”, after her manager lost it over her not responding to a text that was allegedly sent at 2:45 AM. What was further terrible was that she had worked for 14 hours the same day; “10 AM IST to 12 AM IST.” As per the post, after the manager did not receive an “immediate response” from the woman, she went ahead and complained about the same to the “offshore lead in a rude way”. The employee was later made to apologise. As per the post, the woman works at a “top AUM company”, where she has been working during the weekends for the past two weeks. She further called her manager “completely useless”, stating how she now feels “mentally drained” and “anxious”. The woman further stated that the job that she used to love before is now “destroying her peace”. The post went viral in an instant, leaving many reacting. Most suggested that the woman take action and leave the job, while some recalled their own similar stories. Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post.

“My lead expects me to reply at 2:45 AM after a 14-hour day — I’m done,” the post read.
“I’m a 24-year-old woman working in one of the top AUM companies, and honestly, I’m reaching my breaking point. Yesterday, I worked from 10 AM IST to 12 AM IST — that’s 14 hours straight. I’ve also been working weekends for the past two weeks. Despite all that, my on-site lead — who’s an absolute control freak — messaged me at 2:45 AM and expected me to reply immediately. When I didn’t respond (because I was literally asleep), she complained to my offshore lead in such a rude way, as if being online at 3 in the morning is part of my job description. And guess what? I was the one who had to apologize to her for it,” the post further read.
“I’ve raised complaints before, but she’s powerful enough that nothing ever happens. Every time I escalate, things just get worse. My manager? Completely useless. He just nods and agrees with whatever she says. I’m mentally drained, constantly anxious, and honestly questioning why I’m still doing this. I used to enjoy my work, but now I dread even opening my laptop. I’m not sure if I should just walk away or try to survive a few more months until I find something better — but this job is destroying my peace. Has anyone else been through something like this? How did you finally decide it was time to leave?” the post concluded.

“Have some self respect.. First time raise issue, second time raise the issue with higher management third time resign. If you are apologising for no mistake of yours you are literally destroying your self respect which will affect all parts of your life not just work. You will start to feel you are not enough. Which is not good at all,” a user said.
“The market is down, it is very hard to find another job, companies are expecting too much from a single employee,” added another. “Start yelling and make a scene, not rude just facts, make a script and practice if you can, be very specific and polite but yell, that'll teach him/her a lesson and embarrass them enough to back off,” added another.
