The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has suspended the licence of Narayani Foods & Beverages, Zaiqaa Organixs Pvt Ltd and AB Enterprise for
non-compliance with the FSS Act. The food safety regulator stated "FSSAI continues its vigilant enforcement against food safety violations." FSSAI's decision to suspend the licence of Narayani Foods & Beverages, Zaiqaa Organixs and AB Enterprise comes amid Times Now Digital's campaign. Times Now Digital's "E-Comms Hiding Health Info" campaign has been reporting consumer complaints, what health experts and legal experts believe and the measures FSSAI has taken so far. The campaign has highlighted how transparency and consumers' right to information cannot be a choice and is critical. In fact in a conversation with Times Now Digital earlier, Former FSSAI Director Pradip Chakraborty had said, "FSSAI has a lot of work to do, particularly as far as e-commerce platforms are concerned. As per Section 53 of the FSS Act, 2006 penalty for misleading advertisement may extend up to ten lakh rupees." In a post on X, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India suspended AB Enterprise's licence for non-compliance with food safety requirements. FSSAI also suspended the licence of Narayani Foods and Beverages with immediate effect over serious food safety violations and unhygienic processing conditions. The regulator also highlighted issues such as unsatisfactory cleaning of the premises and equipment. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) cited green algae contamination in a basement tap-water area, rust and corrosion on processing equipment, and a poor compliance score of 25 percent during an inspection, leading to the immediate suspension of Narayani Foods and Beverages. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India suspended the licence of Zaiqaa Organixs (OPC) Private Limited after a compliance check revealed a very low safety and quality score of only 12 percent for the unit.
