The Delhi government has announced a free one-year residential coaching programme for Class 12 Science students preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination
(JEE) and National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). According to a PTI report, the initiative is being offered through a scholarship programme run by the Dakshana Foundation, a non-profit organisation. The Directorate of Education (DoE) has asked government and government-aided schools in Delhi to inform eligible students about the opportunity. The programme is intended to support students who are preparing for highly competitive entrance examinations but may not have access to expensive private coaching programmes. Students selected for the scholarship will receive one year of residential coaching free of cost. The programme will also cover accommodation and food during the coaching period. Students to be Selected Through Entrance Test As reported by PTI, Class 12 Science students interested in the programme will have to appear for the Joint Dakshana Selection Test (JSDT) 2027. The selection test is scheduled to be held in December 2026. Students shortlisted through the test will be offered coaching at Dakshana Valley, the foundation's residential campus in Kadus village in Maharashtra's Pune district. The scholarship is particularly significant for students preparing for JEE and NEET, where prolonged coaching and residential expenses can place a considerable financial burden on families. By providing coaching, accommodation and meals without charging students, the programme seeks to make competitive-exam preparation more accessible. JEE is used for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes, while NEET is the common entrance examination for undergraduate medical education in India. The Delhi Directorate of Education has directed schools to make eligible Class 12 Science students aware of the scholarship opportunity and the selection process. Students interested in the programme will need to check the eligibility requirements and registration details for the JSDT 2027 before appearing for the selection test. The initiative gives Delhi government and government-aided school students an opportunity to access structured preparation for JEE and NEET without paying the usual coaching and residential costs.
