Background on New Glenn Rocket
The New Glenn rocket had previously been grounded in April following an incident where it placed a satellite into the incorrect orbit due to engine failure. This test marked only the third flight attempt for the rocket, which Blue Origin plans to utilize for NASA lunar lander missions.Blue Origin noted, “We experienced an anomaly during today’s hotfire test. We will provide updates as we learn more.” The New Glenn rocket is named in honor of John Glenn, the first American to orbit Earth, and is scheduled for its debut launch in 2025.
