US PresidentDonald Trump on Monday said that the United States could achieve "total victory" over Iran within the next two weeks, expressing optimism about
ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran. Speaking during a tele-rally for South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, Trump claimed that Iranian officials were eager to reach an agreement and were willing to make major concessions. "We’re negotiating now, and they want to make a very good deal. They’re willing to give us everything, they’re willing to give us no nuclear weapon," Trump said. The US President added that he believes Washington is prevailing in its standoff with Tehran and suggested a breakthrough could be imminent. "I think we are winning that battle, but you’re really going to win it over the next two weeks when we declare total victory. It’ll be a total victory, it’ll happen very soon, and oil prices will come tumbling down,” Trump said. In addition to this, Trump also predicted that oil prices would fall sharply once the US achieves what he called a successful outcome in the negotiations. The US President's remarks came amid the ongoing discussions with Iran over its nuclear programme.
Trump Warns Netanyahu
Meanwhile, Trump has also warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of continued military action against Iran and stated that it could leave Israel increasingly isolated, as Washington is seeking to negotiate a longer-term peace deal with Tehran.Trump said he had also urged Netanyahu to exercise restraint following a recent exchange of strikes between Israel and Iran. "I said, 'Bibi, you better be careful, or you will be on your own very soon,'" the US Presdient said.
The president also said Israel provided the United States with only limited advance notice before carrying out strikes on Iran on Sunday. "Israel gave us very late notice," Trump told the news outlet.
Trump Asks Israel And Iran To 'Immediately Stop Shooting'
Amid a sharp escalation in Middle East tensions since the ceasefire on Monday, Trump issued a blunt appeal on his Truth Social platform, urging both Israel and Iran to immediately halt hostilities. "Israel and Iran must immediately stop shooting," Trump wrote on his platform."Both sides, Israel and Iran, are looking to do an immediate CEASEFIRE! Final negotiations on 'Peace' are proceeding, subject to ignorance or stupidity getting in its way. The Blockade will remain in place, and in full force and effect, until a 'Final Deal' is reached. Things should move quickly," he said in another post.
