What is the story about?
New Delhi: Security has been tightened at the Faridabad–Delhi border on Tuesday morning, with police teams conducting intensive vehicle checks in the wake
of the Red Fort car blast that killed twelve people and injured several others. Commuters reported long queues of vehicles and delays stretching over several kilometres as multiple security barricades were put in place.
Security Heightened, Traffic Crawls
According to officials, personnel from both Delhi Police and Faridabad Traffic Police have been deployed at key border points, including Badarpur Border, Mathura Road, and Mehrauli–Faridabad Road, to monitor every incoming vehicle. Heavily armed police teams were seen stopping cars, checking boots, and verifying identification documents.
“Security has been enhanced as a precautionary measure following the Delhi blast incident. We request commuters to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with the police during checks,” said a senior Delhi Police officer overseeing the operations at the border.
Visuals from the site showed traffic movement slowing to a crawl, especially during morning office hours.

Routes Affected
The Delhi Traffic Police has issued advisories urging motorists to avoid the route during peak hours and use alternative roads such as NH-19 via Kalindi Kunj and Gurgaon–Delhi Expressway where possible.
Delhi Blast: Investigation Intensifies
The massive security operation follows the Red Fort blast on Monday evening that claimed twelve lives and injured over twenty people after a parked Hyundai i20 exploded near the monument. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking from Bhutan, vowed that those behind the attack “will not be spared,” adding that probe agencies were working round-the-clock to uncover the conspiracy.
The Delhi Police Special Cell, along with the National Investigation Agency (NIA), continues to examine leads linking the explosion to a recently busted terror module in Faridabad. With alerts issued across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, and Mumbai, authorities have intensified checks at railway stations, metro premises, and airports as part of a wider security clampdown.
