California: Google which invested around $900 million in Elon Musk’s SpaceX in 2015 may get high returns from the rocket building and space exploration
company if it goes public next year by launching its IPO. In 2015, Google acquired a stake of about 7 per cent in SpaceX when it was valued at $12 billion. As reports do the rounds that SpaceX may launch its IPO valued at 1.5 trillion next year, Google-parent Alphabet may gain big and add as much as $100 billion to its wealth. Beginning from 2015 with $12 billion valuation, SpaceX if at all goes public next year, then Google’s investment may be valued at approximately $111 billion, gaining almost $100 billion. How Google is Already Profiteering from SpaceX
Google is already profiteering from SpaceX and added to the health of its finances when it reported around $8 billion gain from its “non-marketable equity securities”.
According to Bloomberg, this gain was 25 per cent of Google’s total income in first quarter of 2025, due to the success of SpaceX.
Google and VC firm founder’s Fund and Fidelity are the two major investors of SpaceX.

SpaceX Planning to Go Public Next Year - What We Know
According to Bloomberg and market analysts, Elon Musk’s SpaceX is planning to launch world’s largest IPO at a valuation of 1.5 trillion by raising $30 billion.
However, the rocket building company has not made any statement on whether it has any such plans.
SpaceX, if decides to launch its IPO, may not face any problems for raising funds because it has never struggled due to its brand value and delivery of results.
The space-tech giant has partnered with NASA in several critical missions and proved to be a saviour in risky situations.
SpaceX IPO if happens at all will not just make Google richer but also Elon Musk as the entrepreneur holds almost half of its stocks, a case similar with his Tesla.
At present, Musk net worth stands somewhere around $461 billion. This is largely the accumulation of his Tesla stocks. If SpaceX ventures into public and launch 1.5 trillion IPO, Musk wealth is expected to go double.
