What is the story about?
Abhay Deol, who is known for choosing unconventional films over mainstream blockbusters, has built a reputation off-screen too - and that is as one of Bollywood's
savviest real estate investors. Among his most talked-about properties is a stunning glasshouse tucked away in Assagao, Goa, a home the actor himself describes as "a glasshouse in the middle of the forest." Estimates of the property's worth vary across reports, with some pegging it at around Rs 30 crore and others valuing it closer to Rs 10 crore, but every account agrees on one thing: It is unlike any other celebrity home in the country. A House Built Around Nature And Not Walls
What sets Abhay's Goa home apart is its design philosophy. As the actor explained to Asian Paints' YouTube show Where The Heart Is, his brief to the architects was refreshingly simple: no windows, only glass doors, and the jungle should feel like part of the house. The Goa house stays naturally cool without showy sustainability claims. The result? A home with no traditional windows at all. Instead, just huge glass doors that act as the main pathway between the living room and a sprawling lawn outside. The living area itself is a large space with high ceilings and glass walls that open up to a view of the front garden and the forest behind it. This is also the space where Abhay hosts his guests.
The eco-conscious thinking extends throughout the property. The actor has used black granite flooring in some rooms and darkwood in others, with one wall in the living room covered in dark bricks and another painted a calming blue. The materials are largely natural and earthy - basic elements like brick and wood-toned granite form the base of the house.
Outside, the wellness quotient continues. The house has a minimalistic swimming pool surrounded by sunbeds and greenery, while one report adds that the property includes an infinity pool overlooking nearby rice paddies, where Abhay reportedly unwinds with painting and Krav Maga sessions.

Why Abhay Chose This Home?
Abhay has spoken about falling for the property almost instantly. He revealed that he fell in love with the house the moment he saw it, and his search for a home ended right there. The kitchen, too, reflects his personality - he shared that he enjoys cooking for friends in a kitchen that opens out into a small outdoor sitting area. The Goa retreat fits into a larger pattern of strategic real estate bets that have made Abhay, by several reports, the wealthiest among the Deol cousins, with a net worth estimated at around Rs 400 crore. He also owns a Mumbai property valued at around Rs 27 crore, though it is the glass-walled Assagao home that consistently grabs the spotlight whenever his lifestyle is discussed.
