The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has intensified its investigation into the alleged irregularities involving donations and temple administration at the Ayodhya
Ram Temple, with the probe now focusing on former General Secretary Champat Rai and former Trust member Anil Mishra. The investigation comes as the controversy over alleged financial and administrative irregularities continues to deepen. Both Rai and Mishra have already resigned from their respective positions in the Trust. According to sources, the SIT is closely examining the recruitment process at the Ram temple, where a significant number of appointments were allegedly made based on recommendations from trust functionaries. Investigators have found that nearly 125 employees were recruited on the recommendation of Anil Mishra alone. Recruitment decisions were also reportedly influenced by recommendations from associates of Champat Rai and Gopal Rao.

The probe has also expanded to include allegations that commissions were taken in exchange for appointments. The SIT is investigating claims that Anil Mishra received commissions during the recruitment process and is expected to incorporate its findings on these allegations in its final report.
Sources further said that investigators have obtained details of several properties linked to Anil Mishra. The SIT is examining whether his assets witnessed a disproportionate increase during his tenure as a trustee of the Ram Temple Trust.
The investigation has also brought two more names into focus, Anukalp Mishra and Lav Kush Mishra, who are reportedly relatives of Anil Mishra. According to sources, both individuals allegedly played key roles in the recruitment and appointment process that is now under scrutiny.
The SIT is expected to submit a detailed report covering the alleged donation irregularities, recruitment practices, commission allegations, and the financial transactions of those under investigation.
The resignations came against the backdrop of an alleged donation embezzlement case at the Ram Mandir, which surfaced on June 7. Following a request from the Trust, the Uttar Pradesh government set up a Special Investigation Team on June 13.
