The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has put the NEET UG 2025 round one choice filing and choice locking facility on hold. While the update was shared
on the MCC website, the reason for the same was not shared by the authorities. "The Choice Filling & Choice Locking for Round-1 has been put on hold. The revised schedule will be announced shortly," a ticker message on the MCC website stated. According to the notice, a revised schedule for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Undergraduate (NEET UG) counselling 2025 will be shared soon on the MCC website. As per the information shared earlier, candidates were required to submit and lock their choices by August 4. The round 1 seat allotment results were initially set to be released on August 6. Meanwhile, MCC has also approved the conversion of 188 candidates from Indian to NRI status for the NEET UG 2025 counselling process. These candidates were asked to submit their scanned official documents to MCC through email at ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com. The deadline for this was August 3, 2025. The list of NRI candidates was compiled following a thorough review of documents submitted by applicants, ensuring compliance with the eligibility criteria set by MCC. NEET UG is an annual medical entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission in undergraduate medical programmes. It is the biggest entrance exam in the country, and is mandatory for all medical aspirants who wish to pursue MBBS from Indian colleges. This time, NEET UG 2025 was held in 13 languages on May 4. These included Hindi, English, Urdu, and regional languages. The medical exam was topped by Mahesh Kumar, followed by Utkarsh Awadhiya at AIR 2, Krishang Joshi at AIR 3, Mrinal Kishore Jha at AIR 4, and Avika Aggarwal at AIR 5.
