Delhi Weather Today: Delhi woke up to light rain in several parts of the city on Wednesday (July 8), offering residents respite from humid conditions and
signalling an active monsoon spell. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds through the day, with another spell of showers likely during the evening and night. The weather department has predicted generally cloudy skies, with very light to light rain at many places and moderate rainfall at isolated locations. Thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds of 30-40 kmph, gusting up to 50 kmph, are expected during the morning and forenoon, with intermittent showers likely to continue later in the day.
Delhi Weather Today: More Rain Likely As Monsoon Remains Active
According to the IMD, Delhi's maximum temperature is expected to remain between 32°C and 34°C, while the minimum is likely to hover between 21°C and 23°C, bringing a noticeable drop from the previous day's temperatures.The morning showers have already cooled several parts of the city, and the continued rainfall is expected to keep daytime temperatures in check. Southeasterly winds of 20-25 kmph are expected during the first half of the day before easing later.
Delhi Weather Today: Traffic Disruptions, Waterlogging Possible
With more showers forecast, commuters should brace for slow-moving traffic, reduced visibility and waterlogging at vulnerable stretches across Delhi and the NCR. Motorists are advised to drive cautiously during periods of heavy rain and gusty winds.The IMD has also advised residents to remain alert during thunderstorm activity and avoid taking shelter under trees or near weak structures due to the possibility of lightning and strong wind gusts.
Active monsoon conditions are expected to persist over the region, with rain activity likely to continue over the next few days, bringing further relief from the summer heat.
