CBSE's revaluation process is under scrutiny, with students and their parents flooding 'X' with claims of receiving lower scores than expected. They contend
that the board failed to recheck their answer scripts meticulously, the ramifications of which they are now facing, with many losing admissions due to a gap of just a few marks. “I applied for revaluation in physics and chemistry. 4 marks were needed to be added in physics, but not even a single mark was increased in physics, but in chemistry they only added 4 marks in which 7 marks were supposed to be granted. CBSE, pls understand,” one X user commented.
Echoing similar concerns, another one wrote, “I applied for re-evaluation in five subjects. In total, only 5 marks were increased. Physics and Bio remained unchanged, even though I strongly feel they deserved a proper review. CBSE one: Why does it seem to deliberately reduce students' marks, even in re-evaluation?"
Advocate and social activist Vineet Jindal also took to his X handle to share the heart-wrenching message from a girl student, underlining serious flaws in the board’s re-evaluation process. According to his tweet, the board failed to reassess her answer scripts properly despite clear discrepancies, jeopardising her future endeavours.
“What is even more distressing is that she has not disclosed the issue to her parents because she fears they may discontinue her education and instead start making arrangements for her marriage if they believe she has not performed well in her examinations,” the tweet added.
Questioning the fairness and effectiveness of CBSE’s revaluation process, the advocate said that every student deserves a transparent, accurate, and accountable evaluation system. “A flawed re-evaluation process can permanently affect a student’s education, career, and life,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, some X users are also unsettled by the board’s decision to announce the re-evaluation results in phases. CBSE had earlier announced the reassessment and verification results for 87 per cent of students, following which the results for 12.7 per cent of students were declared. However, 0.03 per cent of students are still waiting for their CBSE Class 12 revaluation result 2026, complaining that they are losing seats at coveted institutions.
Addressing the ongoing issue, the CBSE source, in a conversation with Times Now Digital, reiterated the board's provision that students' marks may increase, decrease, or remain unchanged depending on the outcome of the review after re-evaluation.
When questioned about the release date of the revaluation results for the remaining students, he said that 0.7% of students can expect their outcomes shortly.
