For a moment, people in Udupi seemed to have spotted Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay in the middle of a local festival. However, the man who grabbed attention
was not the actor himself but his striking look-alike, whose appearance quickly became one of the highlights of the celebrations. The Vijay doppelgänger was seen travelling through Udupi’s famous Rathabeedi area in an open vehicle during the Vitlapindi festival. Styled to resemble the Tamil superstar, he waved at people gathered along the streets as the procession made its way through the area. The scene drew even more attention as black-clad security personnel and a black car moved ahead of the vehicle, creating a VIP-style atmosphere. The unusual procession prompted several people to pull out their phones and record videos of the man. In the viral visuals, the look-alike can be seen interacting with the crowd and dancing enthusiastically during the festivities. His resemblance to Vijay, combined with his mannerisms and dance moves, left several onlookers doing a double-take. As the videos surfaced on social media, they quickly attracted reactions from users. Some joked that Vijay had made a surprise appearance in Udupi, while others pointed out that it was only the actor’s look-alike who had become the centre of attraction. The videos also drew attention to the festive atmosphere in Rathabeedi, where large crowds had gathered for the celebrations.
What Is The Vitlapindi Festival?
Vitlapindi, also known as Vittalapindi, is celebrated in Udupi as part of the annual Krishna Janmashtami festivities. The traditional celebration is associated with stories from Lord Krishna’s childhood, particularly his fondness for butter and curd.
The festival features colourful costumes, performances and traditional acts, bringing devotees and visitors together for the celebrations.
This year, however, the unexpected appearance of a Thalapathy Vijay look-alike added a unique viral moment to the festivities, with his procession and energetic dance moves becoming a talking point among those present and on social media.
