What is the story about?
It’s been months since the Coldplay kiss cam controversy, where ex-Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s ex- HR head, Kristin Cabot — both reportedly
married to different people at the time — were caught getting cozy on camera. But it seems people still haven’t moved on from the buzz surrounding the incident. As Halloween approaches on October 31 (Friday), a video is going viral showing a Halloween costume inspired by that kiss cam moment. The video was shared on Instagram a few days ago by a user identified as @jasongonzalok. In the clip, two human skeletons can be seen standing together and “getting cozy” — a clear recreation of the moment that took place during a Coldplay concert in July.
The original moment occurred when Chris Martin caught Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot getting cozy on the kiss cam. As the camera panned to the pair, they quickly ducked down to avoid being seen — but still got caught. With an awkward laugh, Chris Martin quipped, “Oh, look at these two! Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy,” prompting laughter from the crowd.
The Halloween video has since gone viral, garnering hilarious reactions online. One user wrote, “OMG that’s so good.” Another humorously remarked, “Ohhhh look at these two…” One more quipped, “The CEO and HR head who will be forever remembered, hahahaha.” Another added, “Can you imagine? For the next few years, all you’re gonna see are memes of your poor choices.”
Recently, ex-Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was reportedly spotted on a date with his estranged wife, Megan. Despite ongoing rumours that their marriage might be ending following an alleged cheating scandal, both were seen wearing their wedding rings. This sighting comes shortly after news emerged that Cabot filed for divorce in August, just weeks after the controversy.
In the aftermath of the scandal, Astronomer, where Byron served as CEO, launched an internal investigation. Byron resigned the following day, with Cabot stepping down less than a week later. Interestingly, the company later brought in Chris Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, to assist with an advertisement campaign.
